Savannah V, the award-winning Tejano singer, has unveiled her latest single, “La Mujer,” from her most recent album El Color de Mi Amor. This new track presents a reimagined version of the empowering collaboration between Mon Laferte and Gloria Trevi, offering a fresh and bold take on the original. Savannah recently shared the inspiration behind her version with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, giving fans a deeper understanding of what went into creating this powerful anthem for women everywhere
Savannah revealed her initial reaction to the song, explaining, “I heard the song and I fell in love with it. First, I heard it through Mon Laferte, and I was just like, ‘Oh my god, this girl reminds me of Amy Winehouse. She’s just so artistic.’” The artist went on to explain that while she’s not typically one to cover other artists’ songs, “La Mujer” resonated with her on a personal level. “It was very empowering, very uplifting, just for women, for any woman who’s gone through heartache or breakups,” she shared. “We all go through those moments when our light starts to dim, and we forget who we really are. You have to remind yourself every day: ‘I’m that girl. I’m that strong, driven person.’”
With this in mind, Savannah took the plunge and made the song her own. The track was produced by Severo “Sevy” Contreras at Slackmonster Studios and features contributions from renowned musicians Al Gomez and Steve Alvarez. Savannah expressed her excitement about the project, saying, “We put all our all in it and I hope everybody enjoys it.”

The single is just the latest release from Savannah V’s El Color de Mi Amor album, which has already captivated fans with its relatable and heartfelt songs. Savannah has always aimed to be open and genuine with her audience, and much of her music reflects her own experiences and emotions. “I try my best to be as open with my fans as possible because they go off what you’re performing, what you’re singing,” she explained. “You want people to relate to those things.”
Looking ahead, Savannah V is already working on her next album. She shared, “We’re already starting on our new album. We have one song already done. It doesn’t happen overnight, but we’re working on it. I’ve been writing and really digging deep into my emotions. I like to put my emotions on paper.” With eight to nine songs already written, the Tejano Music Awards winner is eager for her fans to hear her new material, which she hopes will be ready for release by July.
When not making music, Savannah has ventured into the business world as a Latina entrepreneur. She is the proud owner of a franchise of Evolve Medical Group at Savy Injectables, offering services like Botox and lip fillers in San Antonio, Texas. “I’m excited about it. It’s a new venture for me, becoming a business owner, and an actual Latina business owner,” she shared. “It makes me very proud to support other Latina businesswomen.”
