Grupo Frontera has once again made waves in the música Mexicana movement by winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Norteño Album. The band also delivered a heartfelt performance of their award-winning duet “El Amor De Su Vida” at the 25th annual Latin Grammy Awards in Miami, Florida, on Thursday night.

Fresh off their first U.S. arena tour, Grupo Frontera took the stage at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards to perform “El Amor De Su Vida,” a track that also won Best Regional Song. Their album “El Comienzo” secured the Best Norteño Album award during the 2024 Latin Grammy Premiere Ceremony.

The band showcased their regional flair with Tejano-style suits and cowboy hats, bringing the essence of life on the US-Mexico border to the Latin Grammy stage. Lead singer Adelaido “Payo” Solís III delivered a soulful rendition of “El Amor De Su Vida,” proudly highlighting the group’s roots in Mexico and Texas.

This performance continued the momentum from their 2023 debut album “El Comienzo,” which featured the genre-bending hit “Un x100to” with Bad Bunny and won the golden gramophone for Best Norteño Album. Grupo Frontera has pushed their cumbia and norteño sound to new heights with their latest album “Jugando a Que No Pasa Nada,” which was nominated for the inaugural Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album category.

“Each member of Grupo Frontera listens and plays different styles, so starting from that, we each had a big say in the genres we wanted to play and styles we wanted to record on this album,” Solís III shared with GRAMMY.com in May.

“Jugando a Que No Pasa Nada” features collaborations with international artists, including MalumaNicki NicoleChristian Nodal, and Shakira. Although their collaboration with Shakira, “(Entre Paréntesis),” was nominated for Song Of The Year, it ultimately lost to Jorge Drexler.
