Destiny Navaira, the Latin Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, has just released “Te Necesito (I Need Your Love),” the second track from her upcoming two-part EP. This upbeat cumbia brings the nostalgia of early ‘90s Tejano cumbia while incorporating contemporary R&B sounds and English lyrics in the chorus.
“I felt like it was time to get back to my roots,” Destiny shared. “I’ve been doing my best to take advantage of being bilingual while writing my music. It’s been fun to play with words in both languages and has definitely helped me make my music more versatile.”
Destiny collaborated with her usual team, including Alfonso Herrera, Rigo Navaira, Frankie Chávez, and Oscar Martínez, and also worked with her good friend Mario Ortiz Jr. The song is accompanied by a new music video directed and shot by Garrett Dickens.

“This song is special to me because it’s one of my first original songs written by my dad,” Destiny explained. Raulito Navaira, a two-time Grammy winner, continues to be a significant influence on both Destiny and her brother Rigo Navaira’s music. “We had this song on the shelf,” Raulito said. “When Destiny told me she wanted to record it, I was excited. When I heard the final product with all of her twists, I loved it.” “Te Necesito (I Need Your Love)” by Destiny Navaira is available to stream or download here.
