Nominees Announced for Inaugural Texas Pura Vida Awards 2024

The anticipation is building as the nominees for the inaugural Texas Pura Vida Awards 2024 have been announced! The Top 5 nominees in each category were revealed on Monday by the organizers during the “Three Amigos Podcast“. Leading the pack is the legendary Jay Perez, who has garnered an impressive eight nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year.

Hot on his heels are Patsy TorresLucky Joe, newcomer Alicia C, and Texas Country artist Ranch Road Band, each securing six nominations. Fans can cast their votes for the Top 5 nominees at puravidaawards.com.

The winners will be unveiled at the grand Texas Pura Vida Awards 2024, set to be the biggest night in San Antonio’s Performing Arts community. The event will take place on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Tobin Center. This prestigious event aims to honor and recognize the immense talent and contributions within the Performing Arts Industry across all walks of life.

The Texas Pura Vida Awards Show is more than just an awards show; it is a celebration of the diversity, creativity, and excellence of the performing arts in San Antonio. Attendees can look forward to an unforgettable Texas-style black-tie evening that promises to dazzle and inspire. The event will feature live performances by the Network for Young Artists (NYA) along with both global and local award-winning artists. The night will be highlighted by a special appearance by the legendary American Country Singer, Johnny Lee, and a theatrical performance by NYA.

In addition to these captivating performances, the awards show will recognize outstanding achievements in music. Awards will be presented in various categories including Entertainer, Country Artist, and Gospel Artist of the Year, as well as Texas originals in the Conjunto, Norteño, and Tejano categories. Talented young artists, 18 and under, will also be recognized with Male, Female, and Group Artist of the Year awards.

“What we are going to be doing with the Pura Vida Awards, is bringing all the performing arts under one roof. From film, television, music, our poets, our writers, screen players, screenwriters, journalists, you name it, that’s what we want. Bringing everyone together,” said CEO Brandy Lopez during a press conference. “We have so many great artists that are out there, a lot of great talent that we don’t even know of.”

The evening will culminate in a grand finale live band performance featuring LA 45 and the David Farias Band, among others, promising a night of unforgettable entertainment. Special appearances by Jay Perez, DJ KaneStefani Montiel, and Gabe Garcia will make the evening even more spectacular.

“We’re surrounded by talent, major, major talent. And today is a historical day for all of us, and not just for our culture, but all cultures,” said COO Danny Farias at the press conference.

The star-studded event will be hosted by Domingo Live hosts Rudy Trevino and Barbi Leo, promising an evening of glamour and celebration.

Tickets for the event are available online through the Tobin Center website and box office. The Red Carpet begins at 5:30 pm, followed by a Social Hour from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The Awards begin at 7:30 pm. This is a Western and Black-Tie Event, so attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest attire.
