If you are a fan of Tejano music, you probably know the song “Flecha Envenenada” by Roberto Pulido y Los Clasicos. The song, which translates to “Poisoned Arrow”, is a catchy and emotional track that was released in 1984 and became one of Pulido’s signature hits.

Now, more than three decades later, the song has been given a new life by Biento’o and Stefani Montiel. Biento’o is a singer-songwriter from San Antonio, Texas, who has been making waves with his original songs and covers of classics. Stefani Montiel is a veteran performer who has been singing since she was five years old and has won multiple awards over a 30-year Hall of Fame career. Biento’o is a captivating musical creation under the prestigious ARC Discos record label produced by Grammy Award winner Ramon Gonzales Mora and Gabriel Zavala.

The duo teamed up to record “Flecha Envenenada” as part of Montiel’s album “Mis Favoritas, Vol. 1”, which features her renditions of some of her favorite iconic Tejano songs. The album was released on August 22, 2023, and is available on all digital platforms.

The cover of “Flecha Envenenada” is faithful to the original but with a modern twist. The production is crisp and energetic, with a prominent accordion and a lively percussion. The vocals are passionate and harmonious, with Biento’o and Montiel alternating verses and joining in the chorus. The song also features a rap section by Biento’o, who adds some flair and attitude to the lyrics.

The music video features Montiel performing the song on a colorful stage, surrounded by dancers and musicians. The video also includes clips of Pulido singing the original version of the song, as a tribute and a thank you to the Tejano legend.

The cover of “Flecha Envenenada” by Biento’o and Montiel is a respectful and refreshing homage to one of the most iconic songs in Tejano history. The song showcases the talent and charisma of both artists, who are keeping the Tejano spirit alive and well. If you are looking for a song to dance and sing along to, you can’t go wrong with this one.
