The Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame has announced the 2022 class of inductees which includes David Olivarez, Machy De La Garza of La Conquista, Ruben De La Cruz, and many others are among the 70 to be honored during a ceremony in Alice, Texas, on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
The Noche De Fiesta Induction Ceremony will feature a tribute to late Tejano legend Laura Canales by Marisela Hernandez, with featured performances from Cindy Ramos y Su Conjunto, Elsa Herrera, Los Hermanos Cuatro, and more special guests at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds.
A kick-off event will take place the night before on Friday, January 6, 2023, at KC Hall with performances from Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz, and Ruben De La Cruz with Ruben Garza.
Since 2000, the non-profit organization Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall Of Fame, which R.O.O.T.S. stands for Remembering Our Own Tejano Stars, honors musicians, songwriters, producers, broadcasters, and supporters of the Tejano music industry. The Tejano ROOTS Hall Of Fame located in Alice, Texas, the birthplace of Tejano music, displays artifacts musical instruments, photographs, stage costumes, and other materials honoring Tejano music.
