Organizers ofVegas Tejano Music Weekand the 2021Tejano Music National Conventionannounced the host hotel for the upcoming August event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event, celebrating 17 years, will return to the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, where the convention was previously held from 2014 through 2016.
Theannouncement was made via a social media videoon Friday byDavid Chavez, CEO ofINGEÑUITYand producer for the annual event that was canceled in 2020 over COVID-19 concerns.
“We are back baby,” Chavez exclaimed in the video. “Come August we’re going to have all your favorite Tejano bands. Obviously we are going to be keeping an eye on what’s going on for Nevada in terms of if we’re going to have masks by then or not. We don’t know. We’ll follow whatever guidelines we need to be following.”
The talent lineup and additional events for Vegas Tejano Music Week will be announced over the next few weeks with tickets going on sale in April and tickets purchased for the 2020 event will be honored at upcoming INGENUITY events in Sin City or organizers will help resell the tickets.
“It’s going to be an amazing time,” Chavez added. “We are going to bring back, hopefully, most of, if not everything from 2020, from the event that never happened because of COVID-19.”
Plans are to pay tribute to those lost over the past year due to the coronavirus.
Organizers previously announcedmore Tejano music events for Sin City, including Tejano America New Year’s Eve on December 30 – 31, 2021. Along with more events planned for 2022, with Vegas Tejano Music Week scheduled for July 7 – 10, 2022, and Tejano America New Year’s Eve on December 30 – 31, 2022.
