The 39th annualTejano Conjunto Festivalscheduled for May in San Antonio, Texas has been canceled, organizers announced.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Tejano Conjunto Festival scheduled in May 2020,” said a statement from theGuadalupe Cultural Arts Center. “The festival has been running for 38 years continuously but the current public health crisis forces us to be cautious and safe. We want nothing more than the health and wellbeing of all of our people that love this music and culture.”
The 39th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival was scheduled for May 13 – 17 at the Guadalupe Theater and Rosedale Park.
GCAC is looking into the possibility of producing a smaller version of the Festival in September. Announcements will be made soon, including dates and location.
The annual Tejano Conjunto Festival continues to feature the cultural tradition of the uniquely South Texas musical genre by featuring over 30 of the best, most popular, and emerging bands from across the state, country and the world.
