The bandexplained the situationin a social media post, “On behalf of the band of Los Garcia Bros, we want to apologize for the show at Club Rio. We didn’t notice or pay attention to our brother Joey as he was complaining earlier about allergies but we didn’t think anything of it. We know he has high blood pressure and when he passed out on stage his blood pressure was elevated. I took his pressure in the van and it was elevated. He had also complained of shortness of breath. We as his brothers in music decided to bring him to Christus Spaun Hospital to have him checked out. Once again, our apologies to the fans that went to see us at Club Rio.”

Los Garcia Brothers fans flooded social media with concern after the incident and the bandupdated Garcia’s conditionwith more details on Friday.

“Joey had surgery in 2014. He had a tube in his throat because of walking pneumonia so the Dr said that it damaged his throat and sometimes blocks his airway. So that’s part of why he passed out. However, we will still complete all our contracts. Joey is a strong person and won’t let his fans down. Again, thanks for all the prayers but he is well and kicking.”

Los Garcia Brothers are known for their “Pachuco” style and rhythmic Conjunto sound. The group has released many successful albums since 1990, including hit songs “Dos Carnales,” “El Pachuco” and “El Cometa”.
