A Seattle Mariners player hit a home run on Monday, and the call from a play-by-play guy named Dave Sims made absolutely NO SENSE.
It started fine, with "There's a drive, deep right field! Say goodbye!" But then he followed with, quote, "Hey, Lloyd! Do some . . . delivery . . . for the truck . . . to the airport."
Later, he said he was talking about Seattle's manager, Lloyd McClendon, who likes to joke about rewarding players with ice cream. And by "truck" he meant ice cream truck. But he admits it came out as gibberish. (Search for "Seager's Three-Run Shot.")
