Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a beloved figure in the Tejano music community and co-host of “A Taste of Tejano” radio show, tragically lost her life in the Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooting. Known for her vibrant personality and deep love for Tejano music, Lisa’s untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of many.

A Tribute on Air

The radio show she co-hosted, “Taste of Tejano,” paid tribute to Lisa in a special episode. The two-hour show went on as scheduled, with co-host Tommy Andrade and Lisa’s family, friends, and community members in the studio. People called in from around the country as they remembered Lisa’s community contributions and her love of Tejano music.

“I’m going to miss her infectious laugh,” Andrade told KCTV5. “She was always the life of the party. She was kind to everybody and always had a smile on her face. She was just great to see all the time and great to be around.”

The Final Farewell

Funeral services for Lisa Lopez-Galvan have been announced. The services will begin with a rosary at the Redemptorist Catholic Church, located at 3333 Broadway Boulevard in Kansas City on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. A visitation will follow at 7 p.m. The mass before her burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m.

A Jersey for Lisa

On the day of the tragic incident, Lisa was wearing a jersey of her favorite player, Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs. In a heartfelt gesture, her family reached out to the public in hopes of finding the same jersey for Lisa to be buried in. Touched by this request, Butker himself sent a jersey to the funeral home.

In a statement, Butker expressed his sorrow over Lisa’s death, saying, “My wife Isabelle and I are heartbroken by the murder of Lisa due to degenerate violence. Murder is a sin that cries out to God for vengeance and I pray the men involved in this tragedy will be brought to justice. Hearing that she was a fan of my outspokenness for our shared Catholic Faith makes this even more personal. I am honored to provide a jersey to the family for her to wear.”

Lisa Lopez-Galvan’s life was a testament to her love for her community, her passion for Tejano music, and her dedication to her radio show. As we remember Lisa, we also honor her legacy and the joy she brought to so many lives. She will be deeply missed.
