YOSA Presents: Viva Emilio – A Night Celebrating a Tejano Legend

The Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA) Philharmonic is set to celebrate the music of Tejano legend, Emilio Navaira, for one night only. This special event, titled “Viva Emilio,” will take place at the Tobin Center on March 10, 2024.

Emilio Navaira, a San Antonio native, is a two-time Grammy Award winner who has charted more than a dozen hit singles on the Billboard Latin and Country charts. The tribute will feature a full orchestra of YOSA musicians, along with Emilio’s sons, Emilio Navaira IV and Diego Navaira. They will perform reinvented versions of familiar songs from throughout Emilio’s career, including “Como Le Hare,” “Lucero de Mi Alma,” “Donde Andara,” “Juntos,” and more.

Emilio Navaira was known as the “King of Tejano.” He passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of songs that touched millions of fans.

This event is part of YOSA’s Classic Albums Live series, which reinvents classic rock and pop songs with orchestral accompaniment. Past celebrations have included the music of PrinceQueen, the Beatles, and Selena. Don’t miss this rare chance to hear Navaira’s beloved Tejano hits come to life in new and exciting versions with the YOSA Philharmonic.

Viva Emilio is a one-night-only event that will take place at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on March 10, 2024. Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 12, 2024, at tobincenter.org/viva_emilio. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the music and legacy of Emilio Navaira with the YOSA Philharmonic and the Official Emilio Navaira Tribute.
