Michael Salgado shares a very personal project with his new album, 2023, released today. The two-time Latin GRAMMY winner highlights songs recently released including mariachi tracks dedicated to late music legend Vicente Fernandez.

“This album is much more than just another record,” Salgado tells Tejano Nation. “This album to me is why I’m where I am in my music journey.”

After the success of songs like “Cruz de Madera”, “Otra Vez A La Cantina,” and “Honky Tonks & Cantinas,” Salgado wanted to give fans, who have also been on this musical journey, a special project that contains some of the elements of his career in one album.

“This album is an extremely emotional album compared to El Hijo de Rancho (released 2021),” said Salgado. “This album, I have left out of the cumbias until our upcoming project coming out later this year.”

He added, “I thank the fans for their continued support. I look forward to seeing everyone come out to the tour “En Vivo 2023” we have going on this year.”

The album’s release date coincides with Salgado’s performance at Tejano Explosion in San Antonio Texas, on Friday, April 28. 2023 is available now on all digital platforms and music retailers.
