Tejano icon Gary Hobbs revealed details for his highly-anticipated debut album with legendary record label Freddie Records during an episode of the singer’s Hanging With Gary podcast, including a special collaboration.
Hobbs signed with Freddie Records in April and commented, “We are truly blessed to have signed a recording contract with Freddie Records. An iconic record label servicing our music and culture at the highest level for decades. We are excited to continue to bring our music to all our Tejano Music family and friends! New music coming soon!”

The singer, known as “El Borrado del Eagle Pass” by fans, announced during Episode 2 of Season 3 of his podcast that he has recorded about 12 songs with three more to record to finish up the album.
“I love the material. I wrote five, six songs and it’s very Gary Hobbish,” he said. “We have two songs written by the Freddie Martinez Sr. Just to let the cat out of the bag, I shouldn’t, but I’m blessed and graced that I’m going to collaborate a song with Don Freddie Martinez Sr. What a please, what an honor. I’m going to treasure that one. He’s an icon, a living legend, he really is.”
No release date for the album or singles was announced. The most recent album from Hobbs, Lo Que Amo, was released in 2019.
Gary Hobbs began his career in Tejano music in 1983 and over the years he has released some of the most memorable songs in Tejano music including “Las Miradas”, “Amame y Bésame”, “Te Vas A Acordar” and “Por Favor Corazón” to name just a few. His history of hit records, gold and platinum awards, industry achievements, humanitarian contributions, and hard work is legendary.
