The premiere episode of Tejano Music Awards TV debuted this week and the program featured interviews and performances from Latin GRAMMY winners Solido and emerging cumbia band Los Lost Boyz.

The program, which airs on San Antonio television stations Fox 29 and CW 35 each weekend and is posted on the TMA TV YouTube channel a day later, featured interviews with Ben De Leon of Grupo Solido with a performance from the GRAMMY-nominated group from Thirsty Horse Saloon, in San Antonio, Texas. The show included an interview with Corpus Christi-based Los Lost Boyz and a clip from their debut live-streamed performance of “Oye Mi Amor” filmed last month.

TMA TV, hosted by Lia C, also shared the Top 10 songs of the week from the nationally syndicated radio show Tejano Gold Countdown and throwback Tejano Music Awards performances from Emilio Navaira and Selena.

“This is the pilot episode and we couldn’t be happier to be bringing Tejano Music Entertainment back to TV,” said producers. “TMA TV will be focusing on the New Generation of Tejano Music and building a brighter future for our genre. We will pay homage to our past with occasional throwbacks and classic videos, but our focus will be on the present and future.”

TMA TV airs Saturday nights at midnight on Fox 29. Get more information at tejanomuiscawardstv.com.
