Veronique Medranois shaking up Tejano music for the Banda generation. After her national television debut at the 2021 Latin Grammys, Veronique returns with her cumbia rendition of “Los Peces en El Río,” a refreshing tune that showcases Veronique’s ever-evolving sound in what is being hailed as Tejano Alternativo.

The song is released and produced byNextGen Latinx Records, co-owned byLA 45co-foundersMike Torres IIIand Grammy Award winnerJohn Ontiveros.

“This song is one of those tunes that has a special place in my heart as it’s one of the songs that I was taught during my first year in Tejano by my band members,” said Veronique. “I’ve sung it and taken it with me these last eight years and have always wanted to record it with my own spin to it. I feel like me and my label/producers have done just that.”

The song hits the radio airwaves today (Dec. 8) and will be available on all major digital music platforms soon.
