Lydia Castillo-Navarette covers ‘Tu Carcel’ for latest single

Lydia Castillo-Navaretteis an emerging artist in Tejano music. The San Antonio singer is set to release her debut album this summer and her latest single is a cover of “Tu Carcel,” a song recorded by Mexican bandLos Bukisin the 1980s.

Lydia’s version was produced byMario OrtizandChente Barrera.

“(I) did my last four songs with them because they are really awesome to work with, they’ve been really, really great. They’ve been very helpful,” Lydia tellsTejano Nation.

“The way this song came about, we wanted something different,” she said. “We wanted to redo a song that no other female had done, so we decided on ‘Tu Carcel.'”

The track is the final single released from the singer’s highly-anticipated debut album expected to be released in July.

Lydia also shared exciting news about her personal life, tying the knot this spring withRandy Navarreteafter a whirlwind and long distance courtship. He lives in Abilene and she in San Antonio.

“It happened so fast, we got married in April, April 23 in San Antonio,” she said. “It was beautiful, just a small ceremony. We did it really quick. He asked me one morning and within a week we were married. It was a small, nice, beautiful ceremony.”

The newlyweds plan to make their home in San Antonio.
