Alice Calaveras 13MC are inviting all motorcycle clubs to participate in a bike rally parade beginning at Walmart parking lot.
The parade will kick off the Calaveras' 2nd Annual Twin Cam Jam Bike Rally on July 18 and 19. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 with line up at 5 p.m. and parade to start at 6 p.m. The procession will go through East Main and downtown Alice, back on Business Highway 281 and end at Jim Wells County fairgrounds.
“We invite all bikers in and out of the community to join us in honoring all of our fallen biker brothers and to amplify our bike awareness proclamation,” said Hector Chapa, Calaveras secretary.
Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club and Tejano R.O.O.T.S.
During the two-day event, food and merchandise vendors will be on hand. Other activities include Best Looking Bike contest, Loudest Pipe Conrest, Hot Bike Burnout Contest, Best Looking Tattoo Contest, Slow Ride Contest and Beer Keg Tossing Contest.
“It's family-friendly,” said Jose Garza, Calaveras interstate sergeant of arms.
Along with all the contest, a barbecue Cook-off will also take place. Entry Fee is $100 for brisket, pork ribs and charro beans. For more information contact Chapa at 361-660-6861.
Several raffles will take place with lots of door prizes throughout the event.
Gates open on Friday, July 18 at noon and continues through midnight. On Saturday, July 19, the event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Headliners on Friday include Tejano bands Los Dos Gilbertos at 6 p.m. and Ricky Naranjo y Los Gamblers at 9 p.m. On Saturday, bands begin playing at noon with Dearly Departed, Pantera Trubute at 2:30 p.m., Iron Maiden Tribute at 5 p.m. and Whiskey-D at 8 p.m. Featuring throughout the day is D.J. Dragon.
Jim Wells County deputies will be on hand for security along with EMS Guardian on standby. A cooling station will also be in place to beat the heat.
Admission to the fairgrounds is $10 per person and children under 12 years are free.
